September 28th - October 2

Thank you so much to the parents that sent chocolate items to school for our silent auction baskets! We had a great basket full of delicious things.

Now that our IOWA test is over (YIPEE!) we will get back to our regular schedule this week. We will finish learning about different communities and begin learning about maps.

On Friday, October 2nd, we will have a breakfast party for those students that read every night during the month of September. The party will be in our classroom at 8:30 am. Stay tuned for invitations!

This week's word wall words are: community, country, to, two, too

Thursday- PICTURE DAY!!!! If you'd like, wear something that signifies America (sports, blue jeans, cowboys, etc) Breakfast party for students that returned their SIGNED reading calendars two weeks in a row! I will send a note home on Tuesday inviting those students... Come to our room at 8:30 am and enjoy some pancakes made by the best cook in town :)

Welcome to Miss Holloway's Class blog!

Welcome to our class! We have been working hard for two whole weeks. Our year is off to an excellent start! I will be using this blog to help communicate with parents and students from home. In years past I have made a weekly newsletter that was sent home every Monday. Last year realized that the newsletter wasn't making it all the way home and was not serving its purpose to inform parents of what we are doing in class. I'm hoping this will be a more effective way to get information to you quickly and efficiently.

This week's word wall words are:
school
pencil
folder
read
homework

Please help remind your child to read every night for at least 20 minutes. Students that turn in their signed reading calendar for the next two weeks will be invited to a special breakfast party here at school! Read, read, read!
